Wednesday

On Get Creating Day the NSMW road show visits Cheswick Green School, Shirley, Solihull and links up with Idris Caldora from the Chef’s Adopt-a-school scheme run by the Academy of Culinary Arts.  Idris is running two sessions for pupils.  The first is about healthy eating and the food groups.  The second is a practical session about making a salad and learning how to use knives safely.

Here you can see another Adopt-a-school programme where students are learning to cook a ten vegetable Biryani.  It is great to see the young people learning to work as a team as they prepare and cook the dish and even wash up afterwards.  Did someone say if only they would do that at home!

The students said they did not like some of the vegetables when they started but changed their mind when they tasted the finished dish.  So much so that they asked for the dish to be served at school today.

There are other Get Creating activity sheets you can download from twinkl and these are fun and interesting for your child to do.
