Everyone should feel the rhythm today as we are asking children and teenagers across the country to get dancing. We have teamed up with professional dance teacher, Hannah Bayston, to create some dance moves that children can do at home or school. These will be available for students to watch on the website from Wednesday, 10th November. Today is about educating our young generation that exercise can be great fun and done anywhere, without the need for expensive equipment. Dancing can increase self-confidence, improve social skills and give us an overall sense of well-being. So just put on the music and let's dance.

These downloads will help you run today

These are some ideas you could use:

  • Contact a local dance school about them coming in to do a morning dance workshop to build up an appetite for lunch.
  • Organise a dance themed competition. The prize could be to win tickets to a local dance show or musical.
  • Download the activity sheets from the website and have one on each place setting. These are designed to educate pupils about the importance of drinking water and how dancing can make us feel.
  • Tell other teachers and your PE departments about the online dance videos so they can include them in this week's lessons.
  • Encourage pupils who already dance to showcase their talents in school assemblies.
