We often talk about a whole school approach to school meals but today we're aiming for a whole community approach. The idea is to invite parents and key people in the community to be part of Britain's Biggest School Lunch. It could be the Mayor, an MP, representatives from your emergency services, local newspaper journalists, a local vicar or whoever else you think would enjoy having a school meal with the pupils. This will create a great PR focus for the first day of the week.

The day is supported by LACA Partner, Mars Foodservice, and their delicious Dolmio pasta sauce. Make sure you take lots of photos and let us know who is coming to dinner so we can share those details with the media. Perhaps you could invite a local celebrity or sports club representatives to come for a meal and they could talk to the pupils about the importance of healthy eating. The aim is to get people talking about and enjoying a healthy school lunch. It's your chance to show everyone just how good they are!

As part of today you could:

• Download the draft letter and personalise it for your event.  Ask the children to make their own invites for a more personal touch.
• Involve the pupils in deciding who to invite in for a school lunch, ask them for suggestions and if you have lots of ideas you could have a vote. 
• Ask the pupils to create a fantasy guest list of who they would most like to have dinner with. This could be famous people, fictional characters or people who really inspire them. 
• Download the tasty Dolmio recipes with their nutritional breakdowns.  You could also ask the pupils to colour in the Papa Dolmio invitation template and print out the menu templates to promote the big day.
