Laughter really is the best medicine and what better way to spend a Friday than giggling. Many of you already have Fun Fridays but this is going that one stage further. Laughter helps reduce stress in the workplace and improves our general health and well-being. It can also help improve productivity, communication and boost creativity.

You can download a range of materials to make this day a great success as well as a letter to send to headteachers. By working with the school staff you can create a day that is fun for everyone.

These downloads will help you run today

Put the fun back into Fridays by using some of these amusing ideas:

  • Create a fun themed menu. You could make funny faces on pizzas or with a carefully decorated salad.
  • Download the fun food masks and ask the children to follow the instructions to make them. There are some to cut out and another to colour or pupils could design their own masks. Make sure you get lots of photos.
  • Staff could dress up as funny characters from books and TV shows.
  • Get the children to tell you their favourite jokes and give prizes for the funniest.
  • Do you have a local comedy club or comedian in your area? You could contact them about doing a routine suitable for Primary or Secondary School pupils.
